Meeting with the guide in San Daniele del Friuli, a small treasure trove of art on the hills of Friuli. Visit of the historic center with the Castle, the prestigious Guarneriana Library (by appointment only), the church of Sant’Antonio with a splendid cycle of frescoes from the sixteenth century. At the end, visit of a ham factory with tasting of the famous San Daniele ham with a gentle taste, recognized since 1996 as a DOP product (Protected Designation of Origin).

In the afternoon you reach the Castle of Villalta, one of the most important and best preserved in Friuli, still inhabited by the Caporiacco family. Visit of the manor (by reservation, based on availability) with the double walls, the walkways, the drawbridge, the interiors with the rustic Friulian kitchen, the main floor with the Patriarchs hall, the Imperial rooms, all finely furnished.

At the end, visit and tasting at the nearby “Poggio di Villalta di Fagagna winery. An almost magical landscape with an hidden entrance, the dirt road that passes over the Rio Volpe, reaches the large lawn, the park and the vineyards that welcome visitors. Visit to the vineyards, the cellar, the barrel room where a few selected wines mature including the selection of Vulpes white wines.

Meeting with the guide in Spilimbergo to visit the famous Mosaic School of Friuli, known internationally. Walk in the historic center up to the Duomo and the Castle. Free lunch.

In the afternoon, the capital Udine, a beautiful and welcoming city, is reached by minivan with driver.  Guided tour of the TIEPOLO Galleries who lived here and reached his artistic maturity and of the historic center: the Castle, Piazza Liberà, the “most beautiful Venetian square on the mainland“, the Duomo, Piazza Matteotti, the Mercatovecchio shopping street, Piazza San Giacomo where you can enjoy an aperitif with a glass of wine (tajut in Friulian). Dinner with tasting menu in a restaurant in the center of Udine. At the end, return by minivan and driver to the hotel.

In the early afternoon, transfer by car to Sauris, a small alpine village at 1,400 meters above sea level Alternatively, we offer our customers a unique experience, the transfer by HELICOPTER from Fagagna to Sauris, flying over the Tagliamento, to admire the characteristic conformation of intertwined canals, one of the rare rivers that has not undergone human intervention, a candidate to become Unesco heritage and flying over the Carnic Alps to reach Sauris in 30 minutes.
