Arrival in Carnia - Friuli Venezia Giulia
Arrival in Tolmezzo, the capital of Carnia, Alpine city of 2017. Leasure time for visits, we suggest the Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions or an excursion to Illegio, for a walk up to the church of San Floriano. Free dinner and overnight stay.

2° day
Tagliamento valley, towards the springs
Breakfast and departure to Forni di Sopra, framed by the Eastern Friulian Dolomites, where the Tagliamento is born. Visit of the local brewery with tasting and then the small and creative embroidery. Stop in Ampezzo at the farm of Petris brothers where the processing of cheese has been handed down for generations, including mountain cheese (Slow Food Presidium). Typical dinner in restaurant with tasting menu (with drinks).

3° day
From Venzone to Ragogna, following the Tagliamento river
Breakfast and departure for Venzone , which in 2017 became the most beautiful “Borgo d’Italia”. Guided tour of the historic center, expertly restored after the 1976 earthquake. In the afternoon, arrival in Ragogna and walk with the guide up to the Castle and the fortifications, and then visit the Museum dedicated to the Great War (Alternatively, on Tuesday possibility to make the optional excursion by canoe along the Tagliamento with nature guide, see supplements) Accommodation in a farmhouse, dinner in a restaurant and overnight stay.

From San Daniele del Friuli to the mouth of Tagliamento river
Breakfast, in the morning guided tour of San Daniele del Friuli with the prestigious Guarneriana library, the church of Sant’Antonio, with the splendid cycle of frescoes of the sixteenth century. Visit of an artisan ham factory, with tasting. Departure through a gravel plain that has created the ideal habitat for vine cultivation. Visit of the winery of the Friuli Grave Doc area and tasting, near Valvasone. Arrival at the mouth of the Tagliamento river, dinner and overnight stay.

Marano Lagoon - End of the tour
Breakfast. Optional excursions to explore the Tagliamento river mouth and the Marano Lagoon (the list will be provided at the time of booking). Seafood lunch in the restaurant.
